ABOUT US
Spearheading Gospel Movements
With a focus on mobilizing the church for this
noble mission, our organization diligently
pursues various avenues to achieve this goal.
Through prayer activation, cultural
engagement, disciple-making endeavors,
leadership development, and church
establishment, we strive to make a lasting
impact on communities, both locally and
globally.
OUR JOURNEY SOFAR
Since our establishment in 2020, Ava Mission
Africa has achieved remarkable milestones in
our mission. We have formed over 2,570
Discovery Bible Study (DBS) groups and
trained numerous disciple makers. Our
engagement with schools, churches, and
communities has made a tangible impact,
touching the lives of thousands. Serving in
countries like Uganda and Tanzania, our reach
continues to expand.
What is Discovery Bible Study (DBS)?
Discovery Bible Study (DBS) is a simple and practical way of helping people discover God through His Word. At Ava Mission Africa, we use Discovery Bible Study to make
disciples who follow Jesus, obey His teachings, and help others do the same.
A Discovery Bible Study is not a Bible class where one person teaches everyone else. Instead, people gather in small groups to read the Bible together, ask simple questions,
listen to God's voice, obey what they learn, and share it with others. Every participant has the opportunity to learn directly from Scripture as the Holy Spirit guides them.
Because DBS is simple and easy to reproduce, anyone can start and lead a group. It can happen in schools, homes, churches, universities, sports teams, workplaces,
prisons, hospitals, refugee settlements, and communities across Uganda and beyond.
Our vision is to see thousands of Discovery Bible Study groups multiplying across Africa, raising everyday disciples who make more disciples.
Why Discovery Bible Study?
Discovery Bible Study helps people to:
Know God through His Word.
Build a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Hear and obey God's voice.
Apply biblical truth to everyday life.
Share what they have learned with others.
Start new Discovery Bible Study groups.
Rather than depending on one teacher, DBS encourages everyone to participate, learn, and grow together.
How Discovery Bible Study Works
Every Discovery Bible Study follows a simple pattern that anyone can facilitate.
1. Connect
Begin by sharing life together.
Discuss:
What are you thankful for this week?
What challenges are you facing?
How can we pray for and support one another?
How did you obey what God taught you last time?
Did you share what you learned with someone else?
2. Discover
Read a passage from the Bible together.
Then ask:
What happens in this story?
What stands out to you?
What do we learn about God?
What do we learn about people?
Is there an example to follow?
Is there a warning to avoid?
Is there a promise to believe?
Allow everyone to participate and discover God's truth together.
3. Respond
After discussing the passage, each person asks:
What is God asking me to do because of what I have learned today?
Each participant makes one simple commitment beginning with:
"I will..."
Examples:
I will forgive someone.
I will pray every day.
I will help my neighbour.
I will spend time reading the Bible.
4. Share
Finally ask:
Who can I share today's lesson with this week?
Every Discovery Bible Study encourages participants to pass on what they have learned to friends, family members, classmates, colleagues, teammates, and neighbours.
This is how disciples multiply.

These are people who:
Are spiritually interested.
Welcome conversations about God.
Are willing to gather family and friends.
Want to discover the Bible together.
Pray for God to lead you to people whose hearts are ready to receive His message.
